What Michigan Requires
Child-Resistant Packaging (Edibles Only)
Required for edibles and infused products. Must comply with the Federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). Tamper-evident and difficult for children to open.
Universal Marijuana Symbol
The Michigan universal green marijuana product symbol must be present on all cannabis packaging. Required by the Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) on every product sold at retail.
Complete Labeling Standards
THC/CBD concentration as tested, licensee name and number, net weight (US + metric), strain name, harvest date, activation time, safety compliance facility, and all required warnings.
No Appeal to Minors
No cartoons, caricatures, toys, bright colors, or designs that appeal to anyone under 17. Products cannot imitate commercial non-cannabis food or candy brands.
Sealed & Tamper-Evident
All cannabis products must be sealed before sale. Packaging must be tamper-evident so consumers can verify it hasn't been opened or altered.
Required Warning Statements
"For use by adults/registered qualifying patients only. Keep out of reach of children." and "It is illegal to drive a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana."
