Just Got Your Cannabis License? Here's Your Packaging.
You don't need to be a packaging expert. You need tubes, jars, and cones that are compliant, affordable, and show up on time. This page walks you through exactly what to order, how much it costs, and how to get started.
The Basics
Cannabis Packaging Has Three Parts.
Every cannabis product needs a container, a child-resistant closure, and a label. That's it. The specifics depend on what you're selling, but the fundamentals are the same across all 13 states we serve. Here's what each product type needs:
Pre-Rolls
You need: Cones (to fill) + tubes (to package). The cone is what your customer smokes. The tube is what keeps it child-resistant and compliant. Most operators start with 109mm king-size cones in pop-top tubes.
Flower
You need: Jars with CR lids. PET jars for value-priced flower, UV glass jars for premium. Most states require opaque packaging — colored PET or UV glass meets this. Start with 2oz or 3.5g jars.
Concentrates
You need: UV concentrate jars (5ml, 10ml, or 15ml) with CR lids. UV glass blocks light that degrades potency. The small sizes match standard concentrate portions. CR lid is included in every jar.
What to Order First
Starter Orders by Business Type.
You don't need to order everything at once. Here's what operators typically order on their first run, based on what they're producing:
I'm launching a pre-roll brand.
Start with: 100K custom cones (109mm, your logo printed — custom printing is included) + 100K pop-top tubes (black or white). That's your first ~100,000 pre-rolls packaged, compliant, and branded. Total packaging cost: about $0.115/unit. Estimated first order: ~$11,500.
I'm a processor packaging flower.
Start with: 10K PET jars with CR lids (2oz for eighths, 4oz for quarters). Add custom logo CR lids at no extra charge. If you're doing premium strains, consider UV glass jars. Total packaging cost: $0.195-1.08/unit depending on material. Estimated first order: ~$1,950-10,800.
I'm a dispensary making house pre-rolls.
Start with: 100K pop-top tubes (black, 116mm — Michigan local stock ships in 2-7 days). Buy cones separately or fill your own. This gets you packaging on shelves fast while you figure out your cone program. Estimated first order: ~$5,500.
I'm not sure what I need yet.
That's fine. Tell us what you're producing and what state you're in. David will recommend exactly what to order, how much, and in what order. No pressure, no minimum commitment to start the conversation. Most new operators start with one product line and add from there.
Compliance
Don't Worry About Compliance.
Every product we sell is child-resistant certified (16 CFR 1700). Every order ships with CR certification documentation. Every tube and jar meets the opaque packaging requirements for the states that require it. You don't need to become a compliance expert — you just need a supplier who already is.
We serve operators in 13 states. We know each state's requirements. When you tell us your state, we'll flag anything specific you need to know.

New Operator FAQ
Questions New Operators Actually Ask.
What if I don't know exactly what I need?
Most new operators don't. Tell us what you're producing (flower, pre-rolls, concentrates), what state you're in, and roughly how many units per month. We'll recommend the right products, sizes, and quantities. No charge for the consultation — it's part of the quoting process.
Are the MOQs flexible for first-time orders?
MOQs are set by the factory — they're not markup padding. 100K pop-top tubes sounds like a lot, but at $0.055/unit that's a $5,500 order. For glass tubes and jars, MOQs start at 2.5K-10K units. If you're not ready for 100K cones, start with tubes and jars first.
How do I know the packaging is compliant in my state?
Every tube, jar, and lid we sell is child-resistant certified under 16 CFR 1700. CR documentation ships with every order. For state-specific requirements (opacity, labeling, plain packaging), check your state's compliance guide or ask us — we'll tell you exactly what you need.
Can I get my logo on the packaging?
Yes. Custom printing on cones and CR lids is included in the per-unit price — no setup fee, no plate charge. Send us your logo (vector format preferred), we send a digital proof, you approve, production starts. Unlimited proof revisions.
What's the difference between factory-direct and a distributor?
Distributors buy from factories, add 30-50% markup, and sell to you. We connect you directly to the same factories — same product, same certifications, lower price. That markup is your margin. Use the savings calculator to see exactly how much you'd save.
